Hello,
I found your webpage, and noticed your request for information about bird observations from Lanzarote. I visited the island (Puerto del Carmen) on a very short business trip on Christmas 2004, and took a day off on Christmas Day, doing some nice bird watching (with binoculars, but no telescope). Here is some selected information that might be of interest. Femés village Ardea purpurea, 1 Salinas del Janubio: Podiceps nigricollis, 1 pair Himantopus himantopus, more than 10 A short stop at La Santa gave a various number of waders: Charadrius dubius, about 20 Charadrius hiaticula, about 10 Pluvialis squatarola, about 20 Calidris alba, 4 (Arenaria interpres, common on all beaches) Calidris alpina, 4 Tringa glareola, 2 Actitis hypoleucus, about 10 Tringa totanus, 2 Tringa nebularia, 2 Limosa lapponica, 1 Numenuis phaeopus, 1 Puerto del Carmen Rhodopechys githaginea, 5 Regards, Håkan Billing -- Tenkehetta Håkan Billing Postboks 855 Sentrum NO-0104 Oslo, Norway Website: http://www.tenkehetta.no/ |
