We Approach The First Of The Papagayo Beaches - Playa Mujeres

All of Papagayo's beaches are protected by imposing cliffs. The steep footpath dropping down to the beach is clearly seen in this photograph.

Access is also possible by approaching the beach from the rear - through the sandhills. Many people come to Papagayo by car over a somewhat bumpy road and park in a carpark just behind the beach (centre-left).

Our journey will take us across this beach and up the steep slope onto the rocky headland in the far distance.
